Nemrod's Visit by Lauren

When Nemrod came to Medford School, he talked about many thing in his country.  Nemrod is a principal in the Philippines.  He has 6 children at home.

When he came he talked about traveling to school.  In his country, they have to walk 3 miles to school!  They also have to walk on very old bridges and on ropes.  Sometimes they even have to ride across rivers on their car tires!

Traveling around their town is much different.  They travel on motorcycles connected to a seat.  They also travel on colorful buses that people can sit on top of!

It is hard work living in the Philippines.  They have to work all day to provide for their families.  There was a Filipino boxer that was very poor.  First he had to wake up and work at a construction site.  Then, he would go buy bread and go around the neighborhood and sell it just to get money.  Then he became their king and a famous boxer!

That is all about Nemrod and his country.

The Lost Little Brother by Cara

In a long hidden place there was a scarecrow name Maheca.  Maheca lived in the woods.  Maheca was having Thanksgiving dinner with her family, until...the lights flickered.  Maheca's little brother was gone!  After a few hours, Maheca gave up and started to cry.  Then a giggle came from under the table.  It was her little brother!  "You silly," said Maheca.  They lived happily ever after.  The end.

Math/STEM Night

Lots of students and parents came to our first Math/STEM Night!  The 3rd team had a good time watching students create their best airplanes at the Airplanes Engineering stop.  After they flew their planes, kids measured and recorded their distance.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

Election Day

I think just about everyone is ready to see the end of the 2016 election!  The kids had a good time participating in Election Day by watching Student Council election speeches and voting for Student Council members, as well as the United State's next president!  After a tight race, Mrs. Lohrmann's class would like Hilary Clinton to by the next president.
