For those of you who may not be aware, Daniel Dut, a student in Mrs.
Hansen's class, has a very rare bone cancer called Fiber Dysphagia. He
is currently in remission but needs to have surgery to make sure the
cancer does not grow. During this 11 hour surgery on January 27th,
Daniel will have his whole eye and frontal bone removed. He will remain
in the hospital for at least four weeks after the surgery and have to
miss out on coming to school, playing with friends, and being
at
home with his family. To help take the financial burden off the family
the school will be having a Hat Day on Thursday, January 21st to help
raise money. Staff and students can donate $1 to Daniel’s fund and in
return be allowed to wear a hat for the day.
